Lady Mustangs soccer squad gets 1-0 win against Fredericksburg

FREDERICKSBURG — What a way to make a debut. Sophomore Crystal Arredondo scored the only goal for the Marble Falls High School girls soccer team in the Lady Mustangs’ 1-0 victory against Fredericksburg on Feb. 1.

The goal came off a free kick by sophomore Shelbi Wyatt.

“Their defense kind of underplayed it, bounced over their heads, and credit to Crystal,” Lady Mustangs head coach Trey Young said, “she ran up before anybody else reacted. And the keeper came out like she should, and Crystal didn’t panic. She just kind of chipped the keeper to the top corner, so she did a really good job.”

The Lady Mustangs now turn their attention to District 51-4A play, which starts Feb. 8 against Leander Vandegrift.

Young said he likes what he is seeing from his team.

“As long as I’m seeing improvement, we’re fine,” he said.
