OBITUARY: Charlie Ashford of Marble Falls was passionate about family, work

Charlie Ashford of Marble Falls passed away Jan. 26, 2013, at his home. He was born Feb. 7 in Alva, Okla., to Charles and Virginia (Williams) Ashford.

Charlie was born a hard worker and often told stories about working in a bowling alley and having a newspaper route at a very young age. He was a painter by trade and owned Charlie’s Painting and Drywall for more than 30 years in the Hill Country. He worked daily until this last year, when he became ill.

He was as passionate about his work as he was about his family. Charlie helped many people in his community — and was always proud that he could.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Cindi; daughter Grayce Catherine; and stepsons, Wyatt and Jesse Grumbles. He also is survived by sons Corky Ashford, Mike Miller and Louie Ashford as well as daughter Debbie Botteroff, all of Oklahoma; sisters Wilma Jean Brickell of Arkansas and Juanita Kustich of California; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is 1 p.m. Feb. 2 at Marble Falls First Baptist Church, 501 12th St.

Memorial gifts may be sent to the Marble Falls Helping Center, 1315 Broadway St., Marble Falls, Texas 78654.

Arrangements by Clements Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373. Online condolences may be made at www.clements-wilcoxfuneralhome.com.
