Lady Dawgs stay atop District 8-3A with win against Gatesville
BURNET — The Burnet High School girls basketball beat Gatesville 50-29 on Jan. 25.
Lady Dawgs head coach Mike Cavender credited his players for their resolve after Burnet lost to Brownwood on Jan. 22.
“We had two great days of workouts and focus, went out and played a great game as one,” he said. “Our energy and resolve was back where it needed to be.”
Burnet led Gatesville 14-1 after the first quarter and never trailed.
Cavender said the Lady Dawgs scored 38 of their points in the paint, shot 46 percent from the field and 38 percent behind the 3-point line.
“The game totals in the stat line were fantastic,” he said.
