Burnet boys finish first half of District 8-3A play undefeated, in first place

BURNET — The Burnet High School boys basketball team got a 39-32 win against Gatesville on Jan. 25 to finish the first round of District 8-3A play undefeated and in first place.

The Hornets were expected to challenge for the district crown. They trimmed in half a 16-point deficit headed into the final quarter. Burnet led 29-16 going into the fourth.

“This team gave another great defensive effort,” Burnet head coach Roy Kiser said. “We held Tobias Moore, Gatesville’s most talented player, to zero points.”

Moore averages 16 points a game.
