LLANO — Country and Christmas come together at the Llano Country Opry Christmas Show on Dec. 8.

Country singer Claude Gray will headline the 7:30 p.m. show at the Lantex Theater, 113 Main St. Special guest is 10-year-old fiddler Colby Sheppard.

The first half of the show will consist of country classics, while the second half will be filled with holiday hits.

Admission is $10 a person. Tickets may be purchased at the Llano Chamber of Commerce, 100 Train Station Drive; Llano National Bank, 1001 Ford St.; Lively Computers, 2112 RR 1431 in Kingsland; or by calling (325) 247-5354.

According to a news release, Gray, a native of East Texas, is best known for his 1960 single “Family Bible,” a song written by Willie Nelson.

Other hits of his include “I’ll Just Have a Cup of Coffee and Then I’ll Go,” “I Never Had the One I Wanted,” “If I Ever Need a Lady, I’ll Call You” and the Roger Miller composition “My Ears Should Burn When Fools Are Talked About.”

One of Gray’s biggest records, “How Fast Them Trucks Can Go,” sold more than a million copies and spawned the hit TV show “Alice,” according to the release.

Fifth-grade fiddler Sheppard has been performing Western swing music since he was 4, according to the release. He also sings and plays the guitar and performed in the stage production tribute to Bob Wills, “A Ride With Bob,” with Asleep at the Wheel’s Ray Benson.

Other guests at the Saturday show include Andi Laree, Bode Barker, Ben Watson, Sammy Geistweidt, Don Ricketson, Charlie Walton, Bucille Snotgrass and Shane Lively.

Tracy Pitcox will serve as master of ceremonies.
