Turnovers costly to Lady Bulldogs against Austin High
BURNET — Though the Burnet High School girls basketball team lost to Austin High 43-39 on Nov. 30, head coach Mike Cavender said the difference in the outcome goes beyond the score board.
"We have to do a better job of handling the ball under pressure," he said. "Our turnovers led to way too many easy baskets for Austin High that we didn’t have the opportunity to play defense on."
Burnet took a 11-10 lead after the first period that went to 24-23 at the half. The Lady Maroons outscored the Lady Dawgs 10-6 in the third quarter and held on in the final quarter for the victory.
