SEGUIN — The Marble Falls High School girls basketball team beat three teams to advance to the finals of the Matador Classic where they lost to Schertz Steele 60-41, snapping a six-game winning streak.

Steele was ranked No. 8 in the Class 5A poll of the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

Head coach Chris Jost said Steele was "definitely" the best team Marble Falls has faced so far this season and he believes last weekend was the best basketball his squad has played.

In the tournament, the Lady Mustangs won their pool and beat San Antonio Antonian Prep, ranked No. 14 in the large private schools poll by TABC, 39-36 thanks to a 3-pointer by junior guard Sarah Stripling at the buzzer.
