MARBLE FALLS — Marble Falls High School senior quarterback Mike Richardson has maintained for weeks that his record-breaking 724 passing yards in a single game Sept. 20 against Boerne Champion was a team award rather than an individual honor.

The yardage set a new Texas high school record and ranks second nationally. The Mustangs won the game 62-55.

On Oct. 11, Richardson walked to the 50-yard line at Mustang Stadium with his offensive linemen as he accepted the Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Week Award for Week 3 during halftime of the Marble Falls junior varsity football team’s 7-6 victory against Leander Rouse.
