Elma Erestine Keisler, 93, of Kingsland died July 15, 2012. She was born in Bartlett on Nov. 11, 1918, to Charles Warren and Estelle V. (Swann) Webster.
She was a homemaker and lived most of her adult life in Rosenberg. She and her husband, Leo, retired to Buchanan Lake Village in 1994. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Rosenberg and attended First Union Church in Buchanan Dam.
She was an avid gardener and reader, but her greatest joy in life was cooking huge meals for family gatherings. She is remembered fondly by her grandchildren for rising early to cook them “panny cakes” for breakfast and not so fondly for using the “bolo paddle” on their behinds.
Survivors include daughter Mae “Judy” Finch of Buchanan Dam; daughter-in-law Shirley Keisler of Burnet; granddaughters Brenda Gumbert and husband Richard of Burnet and Tara Cooper of Buchanan Dam; great-grandchildren Trenton Gumbert of Kerrville, Ashley Holbrook and husband Steven of Burnet and Savanna Gumbert of Marble Falls; sisters Juanita Wooton of San Antonio and Jean Eixmann and husband Otto of Rosenberg; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Leo Keisler Jr.; son Lonnie Keisler; grandson Kevin Keisler; and brothers Charles “Buddy” Webster and Fritz Webster.
