Dorothy H. Hurst, 91, of Kingsland died June 29, 2012. She was born in Carney, Okla., on Jan. 27, 1921, to John Ciscero and Gertie Jane (Holt) King.
She served in the Army during World War II. She worked as an office manager in oil fields for many years.
In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, piloting aircraft, doing yard work, growing flowers and sewing. She also drove a dump truck.
She was a member of Taylor Street Church of Christ in Hobbs, N.M.
Survivors include sister Freda Thompson of Houston; brother J.C. King of Cresson; nieces Jimmie Knox of Houston, JoAnn Welborn of Canyon Lake and Cheryl Richards and Brenda Lusby, both of Kingsland; and numerous great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews also survive.
A graveside service was July 2 at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Hobbs with Stephen Lusby officiating.
