Lavena Rush Willbern, 95, died June 30, 2012. She was born in the Hoover’s Valley Community to George A. and Virginia Estelle Morgan Hasty.
She spent most of her life in Burnet County, and she was very active. Until March, she walked two miles each day.
She served as secretary for the Hoovers Valley Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Service and was president of the E. H. Club, secretary of the Hoovers Valley Cemetery Association, secretary of the Highlands Social Club and treasurer of the Pen Chat Club of Burnet.
Survivors include daughter Marjorie Larel Schillings and husband George of Burnet; sons William George Rush and wife Shirley of Houston and John Allen Willbern Jr. and wife Laura of Burnet; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many relatives.
She was preceded in death by husbands Orville Rush and John Allen Willbern Sr.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. July 2 at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222.
A service is 2 p.m. July 3 at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bill Hammond officiating.
Interment follows at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park.
Pallbearers include Billy Allen, Bob Bostic, Clifton Lewis, Jan Nowak, Mike Sauls, Russell Trimble, Lonnie Ward and Jack Wilson.
