Lutheran puts brakes on Lady Flames’ run

AUSTIN – Down eight points late in the third quarter, the Lady Flames fought their way back to a one-point, 40-39, deficit midway through the final quarter of the TAPPS 2A regional final Feb. 24.

But San Antonio Lutheran’s full-court press and disruptive defense stopped Faith Academy’s run in the game, and for the season, 51-43.

Senior post Brooke Field scored 12 of the team’s 24 first-half points and all 12 of the Lady Flames’ third-quarter points as she put her team on her back and tried to single-handedly reach the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools’ state tournament.
