BURNET — The first TXLA Textravaganza swim meet is Feb. 25 at Galloway-Hammond Recreation Center.

Warmups are at 8:30 a.m. and meet begins at 9 a.m. at the center, 1601 U.S. 281.

“This meet will be a fun opportunity for the kids to race and experience a new pool,” Longhorn Aquatics Director Ann Nellis said.

Only sprint races will be held without relays, and 100 Longhorn Aquatics swimmers will compete. Admission is free.

“It is a good chance for anyone interested in seeing an age group meet and what Longhorn Aquatics is all about,” Nellis said.

Longhorn Aquatics is a swim team based out of the University of Texas at Austin. Some of its coaches conduct practices at Galloway-Hammond on a weekly basis.
