EXTRA POINTS: It’s in the water: City of Burnet soaked with basketball talent
BURNET — Perhaps it’s something in the water.
That might explain the outstanding performances of three Burnet residents — Burnet High School senior guards Leah Cotton and Kati Maldonado and Faith Academy junior guard Bailey Brinkley — that helped their teams win playoff games Feb. 17 and Feb. 18.
The Lady Dawgs defeated No. 2-ranked Yoakum 63-56 on Feb. 17 in the Class 3A area-round playoffs at Marble Falls High School, while the Lady Flames beat Conroe Covenant Christian 64-17 on Feb. 18 at home in the area championship game of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools playoffs.
