J.W. Wallace, 76, of Burnet died Feb. 14, 2012. He was born in Austin on Jan. 31, 1936, to Harden and Mattie B. (Flint) Wallace.
He married Katie A. Pongratz on Dec. 4, 1964.
He served in the Army from 1960 to 1962. After returning home from Germany, he became a machinist, his career for the next 32 years of his life. During retirement, he traveled the countryside with his wife.
In addition to his wife of 47 years, survivors include sisters Joyce K. Mancini and husband Vincent and Dale Johnson and husband Gary; daughters Penny Lynn Armstrong, Cheryl A. Schulze and husband Roger and April Joy Brown and husband Ray; sons Allen Gene Wallace and wife Caryn, Curtis Dwayne Wallace and wife Susan, Harden Thomas Wallace and Jerry Keith Wallace and wife Alicia; grandchildren Nicholas Cole Cardenas, Arielle Nicole Cardenas, Allen Gene Wallace Jr., Brooke Michele Wallace, Dawn Batrina Luu, Gary Patrick Schulze, Jessica Faye Wallace, J.W. Wallace, Harden Thomas Wallace II, Jacob Kagan Wallace, Katlynn Marie Sullivan, Alan Keith Wallace, Alex Paul Wallace, Paige Amanda Moffett, Kylie Michelle Moffett, Ryan Patrick West, Trevor Dean Vaughn and Thor Mathew Wallace; and great-grandchildren Johnathon Harden Wallace, Wilhelm Allen Wallace, Katalina Marie Darlene Wallace, Emma Ann Luu, Ethan Aubry Luu, Braylene Wyatt Wallace and Harden Thomas Wallace III.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Robert Harden Wallace and Darrie B. Wallace; and grandson Richard Glen Armstrong.
A graveside service is was Feb. 16 at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet with Robert Sienson officiating.
Pallbearers included Allen Wallace, Curtis Wallace, Harden Wallace, Harden Wallace II, Jerry Wallace, Allen Gene Wallace, J.W. Wallace, Alan Wallace, Alex Wallace and Gary Schulze.
