BURNET — A strong first quarter propelled the Burnet High School boys basketball team to a 38-28 victory against Salado Jan. 20.

The win means the Bulldogs are tied with Liberty Hill for the District 25-3A lead.

“It’s a big deal (victory against Salado),” Bulldogs head coach Roy Kiser said. “You need to get off to a great start. It’s good for this group of guys to have confidence they can play.”

The Bulldogs (13-10, 3-0) took an 11-3 lead seconds into the second period.
