Ruth Lou Buckner Tatum, 88, died Dec. 11, 2011, in Marble Falls. She was born Ruth Luella Buckner on May 29, 1923, to Walter and Dixie Buckner in Bertram.

After graduation, she moved to Austin and married Marlin Tatum in 1943. The couple relocated to Paleface in 1948 where they raised their six children.

She was a longtime member of Spicewood Baptist Church. She loved the Lord, her family and her church.

Survivors include son James Bishop and wife Peggy of Marble Falls; daughters Karen Glass and husband Jene of Dripping Springs, Dickie Hulsey of Montgomery, Marlene Norene of Kingsland and Donna Preiss of Marble Falls; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years; daughter Mary Hewell; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Dec. 13 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North, (830) 693-4373.

A funeral service is 3 p.m. Dec. 14 at the funeral home chapel with Doug Lindley officiating.

Interment follows at Fall Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Jeffrey Bishop, Kevin Glass, Brett Hewell, Kelly Hewell, Jeremy Hulsey, Chris Schell and Denver Smith.
