Lady Dawgs lose to No. 4 Vista Ridge

CEDAR PARK — In a clash of two top 20 teams, Cedar Park Vista Ridge earned a 49-36 victory against the Burnet High School girls basketball team Nov. 29.

The Lady Dawgs (4-4), who were ranked No. 20 in Class 3A, have had a complete team for less than a month because some athletes were playing volleyball.

Meanwhile, the Lady Rangers are ranked No. 4 in Class 4A by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

"I felt like we battled with them every step of the way," Lady Dawgs head coach Mike Cavender said. "But in the end, their size advantage made the difference around the basket."

Vista Ridge took a 16-7 lead in the first period that went to 31-16 by the half.
