FLORENCE — The Faith Academy girls basketball team finds itself in familiar territory, playing for another tournament championship Saturday, Nov. 19.

The Lady Flames (7-1) crushed Florence 56-33 in the semifinals after scorching Johnson City 73-23 in the opener Thursday.

Senior post Brooke Field scored 23 and 26 points in each game to pace Faith.

In both contests, head coach Jerry English said he was looking for more energy and liked what he saw in the periods that followed.

“I feel like our defense pretty much dictated the whole games,” he said.

Junior guard Bailey Brinkley dropped in 21 points.

The Lady Flames will face either St. Michael’s or Lago Vista, two solid programs, Saturday, Nov. 19, at 1:30 p.m. at Florence High School, 401 CR 970.

“I think it’ll be a good matchup,” he said.
