Bullpups sweep Liberty Hill; Daubers defeat Salado

BURNET — The Bullpups defense led the way in defeating Liberty Hill in the final game of the season. After the Panthers forced turnovers and reached the Burnet goal line, the defense forced a fumble or a punt. That allowed the Bullpup offense to capitalize on momentum for the win.
TOP PLAYERS: Rowdy Holmes scored on a touchdown run of 6 yards, Drew Kiser added another touchdown run of 3 yards and Alex Gonzales scored the final touchdown on a run of 6 yards.
ON OFFENSE: Nathaniel Looney, Michael Lindley, Christian Tucker, Nathan Evans, Carlos Herrera, Carter Carruthers and Luis Gonzales
ON DEFENSE: Joel Holland, Kyle Cavender, Ty Graves, Ryan Warwick, Dylan King, James NcNew and John Meniz
SAY WHAT? "This was a hard-fought game, and the kids really came to play. We’re proud of the effort and hard work the kids put into the game as well as the entire year. We had one small bump in our record, but all in all, it was a great season and great way to finish the season," coach Glen Hafley said.

BURNET — In a battle for the district crown, the Bullpups’ defense dominated the Panthers. After Burnet fumbled with a minute left in the game, Kutter Alexander forced the Panther ball carrier to fumble. Alexander recovered the ball to preserve the victory.
TOP PLAYERS: Jacob Brown scored a 2-yard touchdown run in the first half.
ON OFFENSE: Punt returner Tyler Ford returned the ball to the Panther 39, setting up Burnet’s first touchdown.
ON DEFENSE: Cornerback Caden Farrell grabbed a ball carrier and slowed him down allowing Alexander and Micah Wise to tackle him.
SAY WHAT? "There was not a whole lot of offense in this game due to the part of great defensive play from both teams," coach Glen Hafley said.

LIBERTY HILL — Neither team gave an inch with Burnet leading most of the game. At 23-22, Burnet’s Michael Harris ran in a 50-yard touchdown. A lateral from Gabe Tercero to Austin Moore allowed Moore to find a wide-open Tyler Robles for the two-point conversion.
TOP PLAYERS: Brock Foster had touchdown runs of 82 and 50 yards and a touchdown reception of 15 yards. Austin Moore completed a two-point conversion pass and added a 28-yard field goal.
ON OFFENSE: Joel Johnson, Tristan Briggs, Travis Rhames and Sawyer Fisher
ON DEFENSE: Wesley Shackelford, Colton Barksdale, Keedrick Hill, Cullen Ferrill, Devin Bernal and Keedrick Hill

LIBERTY HILL — After a scoreless first quarter, the Bullpups seized control of the contest when quarterback Trenton Rockafellow scored on a 45-yard run. Peyton Utsey scored the other touchdown in the third quarter from 6 yards out.
TOP PLAYERS: Matthew Nedbalek added a two-point conversion.

LLANO — Stephen Sanderson and Payton Prew combined to score six touchdowns in leading the Daubers to victory in the final game of the season.
TOP PLAYERS: Prew scored on 72- and 29-yard touchdown runs, while Sanderson scored on runs of 73, 1, 30 and 59 yards.
ON OFFENSE: Devon Suckow, Brandon Adkins, Max Glover and Evan Wheeler
ON DEFENSE: Cory Dyess, Taylor Smith, Eithan Layton, Rhett Weaver and Andrew Reeder
Llano 7th white 34, Salado 0
LLANO — A crushing defensive effort led in the Daubers’ thumping of Salado. Meanwhile, Damien Sanchez scored four touchdown runs from 62, 53, 77 and 19 yards.
TOP PLAYERS: Dawson Smith added a 3-yard touchdown run.
