MARBLE FALLS — With the 48-0 win against Christian Academy of San Antonio on Oct. 21, the Faith Academy football team virtually guaranteed itself a trip to the playoffs.

Now the Flames (5-3, 2-1) are aiming to improve their placement. But to get to second place, Faith must beat Bulverde Bracken, the Class 2A defending state champions of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools.

The Warriors (8-0, 3-0) haven’t lost a game in almost two years and have mercy-ruled all but Austin Hill Country 66-48 in the season opener.

“They don’t remember the last time they lost a ballgame and nobody else does either,” Faith head coach Russ Roberts said. “It’s a huge opportunity for us, and we’re trying to take it as exactly that.”

The game is 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at Pony Stadium on the Marble Falls Middle School campus, 1511 Pony Circle Drive.
