Bulldogs prepare for ‘fiesty’ Llano

BURNET — All Burnet High School head football coach Doyle Walker could do was smile at the irony.

Just five months ago, senior Weston Cozby of Burnet and junior Rhett Brooks of Llano were taking snaps during the Hill Country Passing League.

Now, Cozby’s season is finished, the result of a hand injury, while Brooks has moved to running back because of issues with his elbow.

“I think you go through those in a community like ours and like Llano’s where you’re kind of out of the way of everybody and you don’t have an adjoining town that’s very big and you can’t draw from those bigger communities,” Walker said.

Llano will play at Burnet at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at Bulldog Field, 1000 The Green Mile.
