TAYLOR — District play continues to look grim for the Bulldogs.

Burnet High School lost its third-straight district contest during a lopsided road game Friday.

Taylor beat the Bulldogs 41-27 at Memorial Field.

Burnet is now 0-3 in University Interscholastic League District 25-3A competition.

Soon after the Ducks took the opening kickoff, they dropped a short punt on their own 36-yard line.

Good field position helped Burnet quarterback Nick Melvin score on a run from the Taylor 1. Halfback Zach Maldonado gained 26 yards on a screen pass to help set up the touchdown. Place Kicker Austin Huff booted the point-after touchdown to give the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead.
