BURNET —  The one thing that usually gives football teams fits is road games.

But that hasn’t been the case for Burnet High School. All of their losses have been at home this season.

Head coach Doyle Walker hopes his Bulldogs (3-4, 0-2) remain true road warriors as they travel for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff Oct. 21 against Taylor at the Ducks’ Memorial Stadium at the intersection of Davis and Huff streets.

The Ducks’ (1-6, 0-2) only win was against Llano, 31-20, to begin district play.

And yet Walker said fans shouldn’t judge a team by a set of numbers.

“Watching these guys on film, I’m thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, how have they only won one game?'” he said. “They’re very athletic. They can hurt you in a heartbeat.”
