FREDERICKSBURG — The Burnet Middle School eighth-grade green football team (2-1) recently defeated Fredericksburg 19-0 with all the scoring done in the first half.

Jason Gresham scored a 65-yard touchdown to open the scoring. Trent Rockafellow added the extra point, giving the Bullpups a 7-0 lead.

Jesse Pollard added a 5-yard touchdown run and leaping touchdown catch between two defenders for the 19-0 victory.

 

The green team hosts Lampasas at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at Bulldog Field, 1000 The Green Mile.

 

8th white 7, Fredericksburg 0

FREDERICKSBURG — The Burnet Middle School white team (2-1) recently edged Fredericksburg 7-0.

After a scoreless first half, Brock Foster scored the only touchdown from 20 yards. Austin Moore added the extra point.

Several Burnet touchdowns were called back because of penalties, coaches said.

Still, the Billies had a chance on their final drive, but the Bullpups forced a turnover on downs to preserve the win.

The white team plays Lampasas at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 at Bulldog Field, 1000 The Green Mile.

 

Fredericksburg 12, 7th green 8

BURNET — The Burnet Middle School seventh-grade green football team recently lost to Fredericksburg 12-8.

Micah Wise scored the only touchdown for the Bullpups with Ryan Robertson adding the kick for two points.

The defense played well, but seemed to fizzle out late in the game, coaches said.

The green team will play at Lampasas on Oct. 6 with a 4:30 p.m. kickoff.

 

7th white 15, Fredericksburg 6

BURNET — The Burnet Middle School seventh-grade white football recently defeated Fredericksburg 15-6.

Alex Gonzales scored each touchdown for the Bullpups.

The game was called early because of lightning.

The Bullpups will play at Lampasas on Oct. 6 in a 6 p.m. contest.
