Paul Hood, 90, of Horseshoe Bay died after a brief illness Aug. 29, 2011. He was born in Chipley, Fla., on June 12, 1921, to R.E. and Roseann “Dolly” Hood.

He was a resident of the Marble Falls area for 35 years and was an inspiration to all.

Survivors include his wife Floriene of Horseshoe Bay; sister Maebell Dunn of Bastrop; daughter Susie Sickelka and husband Ric of Jarrell; grandchildren Atha Murk and husband Allen of Granite Shoals, Carla Curd and husband Les of Burnet, Donna Scott and husband Shane and James Melton, all of Fort Smith, Ark., Bo Butler and wife Marainna of Las Aeras, N.M., Kenny Williams and wife Karen of Monahans, Angie Davis and husband Norman of Carlsbad, N.M., Misty Andrews and husband Michael of Jarrell, and Mandy Luker of Ponca City, Okla.; 10 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; several brothers; a sister; great-grandson Daniel Paul Wright; and daughters Venetia Delong and Jeffye Williams.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Sept. 1 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North, (830) 693-4373.

A funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the reverends Robert Montgomery and Kenneth Womack officiating.

Interment will follow at Marble Falls City Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Allen Murk, Ric Sickelka, Wayne Curd, Heath Wright, Randy Morring and Leslie Morris.
