Robert Clay Stringer
Robert Clay Stringer, 71, of Burnet died Aug. 16, 2011, at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple after a brief illness. He was born in Midland on March 16, 1940.
Beginning as a milk-and-ice cream deliverer, he remained employed by the dairy industry for more than 45 years, most recently as general manager for Dean Foods and an account executive at Oak Farms Dairy in Austin.
He was a dedicated and loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather, and an avid golfer. Before returning to Texas to live in Burnet, he and his family lived in Arizona, Tennessee and Florida.
He attended Hill Country Fellowship in Burnet.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Virginia; sons Robert Chris and Randall Craig; grandsons Lee and Jack; twin brother Henry Ray and brothers Ron and Gary; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Henry Clay “Jack” Stringer; mother Laverne Stringer; and brother Allen Stringer.
A service is 10 a.m. Aug. 20 at Hill Country Fellowship Church, 200 Houston Clinton Drive in Burnet. Interment will follow at Post Mountain Cemetery.
The family requests donations be made to Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple.
