MFalls 7-on-7 splits into two teams, records first loss
MARBLE FALLS — Technically, the Marble Falls 7-on-7 football team still has its perfect record intact.
And it only makes sense that if the Mustangs had to lose, it came in the form of the squad dividing into two groups — Marble Falls purple and Marble Falls white — for the second week of the Hill Country Passing League on June 14.
White beat purple 14-7.
It also allowed fans to see two players vying for the role of backup quarterback: incoming junior Jay Watson and incoming sophomore Carson Bowen.
Bowen, quarterback for White, hit Taylor Cauble for a 35-yard touchdown and Clynt Powell on the point after. Later, Bowen found Cauble again for a 25-yard score and even caught the one-point.
