Bulldogs set to start playoffs
BURNET — A glance at Yoakum’s two-game sweep of Devine told the Burnet High School baseball team one thing about its area opponent.
Yoakum scored a combined 29 runs in two games which demonstrats their fire power, Burnet head coach Tim Perkins said.
“They had (a player) who hit three home runs in the series,” he said. “There’s another kid who hit a couple of home runs.”
Justin Boening hit a two-run homer and Luke Tyler added a solo home run in Game 1. Boening added a grand slam and a two-run homer, while Neil Berger added a two-run homer in Game 2.
