High winds force ‘hard landing’ of plane in Llano

LLANO — The pilot of a single-engine Cessna Columbia 350 walked away Feb. 27 following a "hard landing" at the city’s airport, officials said.

Gary Williams, 61, of Montgomery was attempting a landing at the Llano Municipal Airport at 3:50 p.m. when high winds caught the airplane, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman.
