Dorothy Lorena Bird Amidon
Dorothy Lorena Bird Amidon, 87, died Feb. 23, 2011, in Lampasas.
She was born March 27, 1923, in Bertram to Constantine and Rosa Taylor Bird. She married Rodney Amidon April 5, 1945. They celebrated 60 years together and raised six children.
Survivors include sons, daughters and their spouses including Ronny and Sharon Amidon, Kenny and Rene Amidon, Randy and Vickie Amidon, Judy and Doug Ray and Donna and Wayland Kelley; Joy Shelburn; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son Winkey; granddaughter Kristi; parents; and brothers and sisters Claude Bird, Lloyd Bird, Marvin Bird, George Bird, Homer Bird, Ellen Taylor and Lillie Dunn.
A graveside service and interment were held Feb. 26 at Bear Creek Cemetery in Bertram with the Rev. Doug Lindley officiating.
