Linda Kathleen (Leach) Hodges

Linda Kathleen (Leach) Hodges, 69, of Llano died March 25, 2010. She was born Dec. 30, 1940, to Buck and Edith Leach in Merkel.

She married Benny Lawrence Hodges Oct. 9, 1965, in Merkel.

She was a member of Llano First Baptist Church and an active member of the Llano Fine Arts Guild. She graduated from Merkel High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in home economics.

She was a Llano County home demonstration agent and also taught home economics at Schertz-Cibolo High School in Schertz.

Survivors include her sister-in-law Connie Garrett and husband Nathan of Tow;

brother- in-law Ronnie Hodges of Buchanan Dam; brother of heart Kenneth Decker of Austin; nieces Virginia "Bo" Grell  and husband Michael of Flower Mound, Nalene Benevides and husband Oscar of El Paso, and Natasha Garrett of Tow; nephew Lance Garrett and wife Peggy of Tow; and cousin Virginia Duncan and husband Lee of Llano.

She was preceded in death by her husband June 29, 2006; her parents; and brother Dick Leach.

A funeral service is 2 p.m. March 28 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home chapel, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, with the Rev. Rick Cundieff officiating.  Burial will follow at Llano City Cemetery.
