Bernard John Horak, 66, of Marble Falls died Feb. 22, 2010. He was born April 25, 1943, in Los Angeles to Johnnie and Georgia (Kubelka) Horak.

He had been a resident of the Marble Falls area for nearly 30 years and was a home builder. He was a devout member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Marble Falls and was a volunteer.

He was active in the men’s ACTS retreats and enjoyed bringing and meeting new people. He had a very generous heart and never hesitated to help anyone with a good work ethic or to give to the less fortunate or needy. People who knew him or dealt with him always appreciated his honesty and advice.

He cherished the relationships he had with subcontractors, supply companies and homeowners and considered many of them extended family.

One of his greatest joys was fishing.

He also enjoyed telling a good joke and taking the scenic route. He was a husband who provided for his family, a loving father and a very proud “Paw Paw.”

Survivors include his wife DeNetta Horak of Marble Falls; daughter and son-in-law Krystal and Justin Dunk of Horseshoe Bay; grandchildren Payton and Preston; brother and sister-in-law Larry and Patricia Horak of Grand Prairie; sister and brother-in-law Delores and Jerry Payne of Argyle; sister Mary Ann Creel of Mesquite; and many other relatives.

A rosary was recited Wednesday at St. John, 105 RR 1431 East in Marble Falls.

A  funeral Mass is 10 a.m. today at the church with the Rev. Jairo Lopez officiating. Interment will follow at Marble Falls City Cemetery.
