Marble Falls police seeking man who ran during traffic stop

MARBLE FALLS — The search is on for a motorist wanted on a warrant who bolted from police during a routine traffic stop Tuesday, officers said.

Ricky Jo Atchisson, 26, is sought in connection with at least one outstanding warrant from Burnet County, Marble Falls police Capt. Floyd Goodwin said.

According to Goodwin, officers stopped a car about 1 p.m. after a traffic violation on U.S. 281 North near the city limits. There were two people in the vehicle, he added.

“The driver was pulled over for a traffic violation, and the officer discovered the driver had drug paraphernalia in plain view,” Goodwin said. “In that situation, we run a warrant check on everyone in the vehicle. That’s standard procedure.”

Goodwin said officers realized the vehicle’s passenger was wanted on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the 33rd Judicial District Court.

“Before we could arrest him, he took off,” he said.

Anyone with information on Atchisson is asked to call the Police Department at (830) 693-3611.
