Oatmeal Festival Cook-Off looking for recipes Saturday
BERTRAM – Love to putter around in the kitchen? Want a challenge? Stir up an oatmeal recipe and enter the Bertram Oatmeal Festival Cook-Off.
Submit recipes in as many of these categories as you wish: bread, candy, cakes, cookies, crisps, low fat/low cholesterol and pies. Each category will have two divisions: junior (age 18 and under) and adult (age 19 and over).
Oh, Susannah, Cry for My Oatmeal Cake won the cake, senior division last year while Peach and Cherry Crisp won the crisp, junior division.
Entries will be accepted Saturday from 9:33 a.m. to 11:33 a.m. at the Pavilion adjacent to the Bertram Little League Fields on FM 243. Judging will begin at 12:33 p.m.
Cash prizes of $33.33 will be awarded to first-place winners of each category in both divisions.
The grand-prize winners in both divisions will receive $133.33 and a plaque, and the grand-prize recipe winner will also receive $133.33 and a plaque.
The Cook-Off is sponsored by 3-Minute Brand Oats.
