Ponies begin their season with win
Coach Mark Moran’s players came out in a half-court man-to-man defense. The Ponies relied on good defense to lead to their offense, he said.
“We had a lot of break away opportunities that came from good defense,” the coach said.
Tyler Castenada led all scorers with seven points. Jerad Grenwelge and Sam McCrocklin both chipped in four points, while Jason Rogers scored three and Ryan Wreyford scored two.
Michael McCloskey, Roman Salazar and Tyler Ridgely played well but failed to score, Moran said.
“Considering that we had a total of three practices for a total of 90 minutes, I would say the team jelled well,” he said.
