Burnet Ministerial Alliance sponsors community Thanksgiving worship

BURNET — A special Community Thanksgiving worship service will benefit LACare food bank and the hungry, said officials with the Burnet Ministerial Alliance.

The service will be 7 p.m. Nov. 23 at First United Methodist Church, 909 E, Vanderveer St.

A choir directed by Marsha Spinner will provide special music. The sermon will be delivered by the Rev. Doug Lindley, associate pastor of Hill Country Fellowship.

The offering is designated for LACare, a local food pantry that provides emergency food for the less fortunate in the greater Burnet area.

Along with the offering, those attending the service are encouraged to bring a box or a bag of cereal as a “cereal offering” to express their thanks for the many blessings they enjoy.
