A rose by any other name lecture offered
The 7 p.m. lecture at the library, 105 E. Haynie St., is sponsored by the Llano Master Gardeners Association.
The Glentzers are the authors of “Pink Ladies and Crimson Gents…Portraits and Legends of 50 Roses,” which was featured in the June 2008 issue of Texas Monthly.
They live in Houston, where Molly Glentzer is the lifestyles editor of the Houston Chronicle and Don Glentzer is a published and well-known Texas photographer.
Sponsors said anyone who grows roses will enjoy the stories of some of history’s most intriguing namesakes, accompanied by Glentzer’s stunning photographs.
Books can be purchased from the Glentzers, who will sign them. Refreshments will be served, and the regular monthly business meeting of the association follows the program.
