Parent-child special added to Rotary Ranch Run 2008

SMITHWICK — Sponsors are offering a parent-child special for the Manzano Rotary Ranch Run 2008 Saturday at Boulder Creek Farms. If a parent registers at full price, then a child can run free. A T-shirt for the child will cost $5, organizers said.

Olympian and Marble Falls High School class of 2004 graduate Leonel Manzano, the Daybreak Rotary Club of Marble Falls and the Highland Lakes Track and Field Club are sponsoring the run, which starts 8 a.m.

There will be a 1.5K, 5K and 10K run.

Kids can run a 1K unless they wish to accompany their parents on a longer race.

Entry fee for high school students and under is $20 and adults $30. There are other admission prices for elementary children as well.

The facility is at 7420 RR 1431 East, about seven miles east of Marble Falls.

Proceeds benefit charitable groups supported by Rotary and the track club.
