SPICEWOOD — The goal of Spirit Lodge, which opened two months ago as a 24-bed addiction and treatment facility, is to offer a multi-disciplinary treatment program, officials said.

The staff hopes to give individuals a full health assessment to serve their emotional, physical, cognitive, spiritual and medical needs, officials added.

The treatment center is located at 840 CR 420, adjacent to the Barton Creek Lakeside Resort. The 8-acre estate features a 10,000-square-foot living, meeting and recreational facility. Spirit Lodge offers a private-pay, 90-day substance abuse treatment program with a 35-day minimum stay.

“In this approach to treatment, we have individual and group counseling sessions, therapy and an on-site spa which provides massage, acupressure, manicures, pedicures and personal trainers to work with everyone,” said Paul Auchterlonie, the national business development director for Spirit Lodge. “We also encourage family inclusion and support throughout the program.”

Auchterlonie says the catalyst for someone seeking treatment is knowing their life is obviously not going the way he or she wants. The center’s goal is to help them learn more about themselves during the transition toward good health.

“It’s a lifestyle change. We continue offering support after the in-house treatment phase, and it’s important for individuals to learn about all aspects of their life from staying healthy to focusing on their personal relationships as well,” he said.
