Vote now for Picayune Presents Readers’ Choice Awards 2008

HIGHLAND LAKES — Where’s the best place to get a slice of pie? An oil change? How about a martini?

Residents can decide those questions and more by voting in this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2008, presented by The Picayune.

Ballots for the poll are available in this week’s Picayune and online at www.thepicayunetv.com. Ballots also will be re-printed in the Nov. 5 Picayune and in The River Cities Daily Tribune until Nov. 9.

Residents also can vote in person at the Marble Falls H-E-B, 1502 RR 1431, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2; at the Burnet H-E-B, 105 S. Boundary St., 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 4; or at the Kingsland H-E-B, 215 RR 2900, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 6.

“This is a great opportunity for our readers to take part in a fun and entertaining poll,” Victory Publishing Co. Ltd. Advertising Director Mandi Wyatt said. “We’re asking readers to tell us their favorite local institutions in a number of categories, from restaurants and services to healthcare.”

Winners will be announced in a special edition of The Picayune in December, Wyatt said.

Voting for the Picayune Presents Readers’ Choice Awards 2008 ends Nov. 10.

“We hope all of our readers will pick up an issue of The Picayune or The Daily Tribune so they can tell us about their favorite local businesses,” Wyatt said. “We’re excited to bring them this opportunity to get to know the community.”

Victory Publishing was started by Marble Falls residents Dan and Lee Alvey. Their daughter Amber Alvey Weems is president.  The company publishes The Picayune, The River Cities Daily Tribune, 101 Fun Things to do in the Highland Lakes, The Highland Lakes Business Journal and the Picayune Area-Wide Phone Book.
