Local OES chapter celebrates 100 years

BERTRAM — The Order of the Eastern Star hosts its second annual Burnet Community Dinner and Dance 6-11 p.m. Saturday to raise funds and mark the chapter’s 100th birthday.

The event takes place at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall Post No. 6974, 1402 Buchanan Drive, which is also Texas 29 West.

This is a dual celebration event that celebrates the chapter’s 100th birthday while raising funds for its benevolent projects, members said.

Dinner is from 6:30-8 p.m. catered by the Bertram Smoke Haus. Guests will enjoy brisket, beans, potato salad, tea, coffee and birthday cake.

There also will be a silent auction.
