‘Rejuvenate’ with Dawn Jordan Smith at Horseshoe Bay Ladies Night Out

HORSESHOE BAY — Dawn Jordan Smith will speak about the power of spiritual rejuvenation even in the face of great tragedy during the annual Ladies Night Out at the Horseshoe Bay Resort Marriott hotel.

First Baptist Church of Marble Falls invites all Highland Lakes-area women to the event 6 p.m. Nov. 8 at the hotel, 200 Hi Circle North.

Planners said this is an evening for women to spend time in praise, worship and great fellowship with other women. The theme is “Rejuvenation.”

Smith’’s own experience is a result of being affected by deep tragedy, organizers said.

On May 31, 1985, her younger sister Shar was kidnapped and murdered just two days before her high school graduation.

Smith said her faith helped her to go on and become Miss South Carolina in 1986 and second runner-up to Miss America. The Billy Graham Crusade came to South Carolina that same year and millions were touched by her testimony and her singing of “Amazing Grace.”

As a vocalist and worship leader at women’s ministry events, Smith has shared the platform with many of today’s leading speakers including Beth Moore, Becky Tirabassi, Kay Arthur, Marge Caldwell, Jeanette Clift George, Dorie Van Stone, Anne Graham Lotz and Patsy Clairmont.

Tickets are $20 and must be purchased by Oct. 26. Tickets will not be sold at the door. For more, call the Women’s Ministry at (830) 385-7580.
