Mountain lion warning sounded for Horseshoe Bay area

HORSESHOE BAY — Authorities are issuing a warning after a mountain lion killed and ate a buck this week near the No. 4 fairway of Applerock Golf Course.

According to an e-mail alert, the Horseshoe Bay Property Owners Association has received credible reports from residents in Horseshoe Bay West about the incident. The attack occurred between Mountain Home and Long Mountain Streets off of Mt. Leather Street.

Although attacks on humans are rare, pedestrians should be aware of their surroundings and take proper precautions, the association said.
