Juanita Coelleen Power, 61, of Granite Shoals died May 19, 2012. She was born in Lubbock on March 10, 1951, to Samuel and Izora Christine (Johnson) Shelton.

She worked in the health-care industry as a certified nurse’s assistant. She was always available to her family and friends.

Homer Ray Perkins, 86, of Horseshoe Bay died May 16, 2012.  He was born in Marlin on June 2, 1925.

He graduated from Austin High School where he was on the basketball team.  His love of all sports continued during his life. He particularly enjoyed golf and fishing. He could often be found angling for crappie at the Horseshoe Bay Marina.

Mary M. DuFresne, 92, formerly of Granite Shoals, died May 17, 2012, in Fredericksburg. She was born in Scranton, Penn., on Dec. 18, 1919, to Anthony and Olga Rostkowski.

As a homemaker she enjoyed sewing, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a faithful Christian and had attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Marble Falls before moving to Fredericksburg.

Carmen Parker, 88, of Burnet died May 20, 2012, in Round Rock. She was born on Nov. 11, 1923, in Burnet to Samuel and Pearl Teagle McFarland.

She will be remembered for her kindness and the many years she spent in service to this community as a receptionist at the Allen Clinic.
