Lady Dawgs lose first district match

LIBERTY HILL — This match was a classic.

The Burnet High School volleyball team traveled a mere 20 miles down Texas 29 under clear fall skies and walked into an inferno at Liberty Hill Oct. 3. The two teams battling for playoff berths in District 8-3A exchanged fierce fire in a contest that raged into a fifth set.

Fort Croghan Day brings history alive

 

BURNET — Fort Croghan will bring the old West and early days of Burnet to life Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

“We call it Fort Croghan Day, but it’s really a living history day,” said Millie Williams of the Fort Croghan Museum. “There will be a whole bunch of things going on that people did when this area was first being settled.”

 

Faith receives a needed gridiron test

ROUND ROCK — It was just what Faith Academy football coach David Denney wanted Oct. 3 — a challenging opponent.

“It was a very physical game,” he said about the 46-20 win over Round Rock Christian. “It was something we really needed. That win was a total team effort.”
