Burnet couple celebrating 76 years of marriage

Marie and Barney Warwick enjoy an anniversary party at the Oaks Nursing home in Burnet Wednesday. The couple will celebrate 76 years of marriage Dec. 18. They met at a party in Bertram but it was almost a year later they saw each other again. Since then, they’ve hardly been apart. 

Healing war’s wounds

The Angels: Seven local actresses will portray World War II nurses during ‘They Called Them Angels’ this weekend at the Hill Country Community Theatre in Cottonwood Shores. 

 

Branching out

Marble Falls Middle School student London Grounds unloads a dormant crepe myrtle tree this week at the campus. The Lower Colorado River Authority donated 20 trees to the school, which is undergoing a major renovation. District officials said the trees will help beautify the grounds.
