Earl Doyle Gatliff

Earl Doyle Gatliff, 92, a lifelong resident of San Saba, died Sept. 12, 2012. He was born on Feb. 20, 1920, to George Henry and Effie May (Jackson) Gatliff.

He was a veteran of the Army.

On Aug. 20, 1942, he married Lela Mae Reagor in San Saba. He worked for about 37 years at Golding Motors in San Saba. He and his wife also cleaned the Arrowhead Bank and Hill Country Community Action offices in San Saba for many years.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his wife, survivors include daughter Jana Osbourn and husband Gary of Llano; extended family Wayne Edmondson of Wyoming, Cambria Harkey and John Harkey and wife Jessica, all of Austin, and Leah Wheeler and husband Clint of Burleson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.

Visitation is 2 p.m. Sept. 15 at the San Saba City Cemetery. A graveside service follows at 3 p.m. with Edward Ragsdale officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
