Jack Terry Yates
Jack Terry Yates, 69, of Kingsland and formerly of Austin, died Sept. 6, 2012, at his home. He was born March 9, 1943, to Violet Lorene (Mathis) Yates and Cecil Jasper Yates in Torrance, Calif.
He worked more than 30 years in construction and then became a certified nursing assistant, caring for many elderly and handicapped people during the remainder of his years.
He was a Christian and loved to be on or near the water. He married Tracy Lynn Culberson July 21, 1984, in San Jose, Calif.
In addition to his wife, survivors include sons Jack Rowdy Yates of Canyon Lake, Terry Shane Yates and wife Kim Yates of Austin, and Jake Austin Yates of Kingsland; niece Kerinda Yates Anderson of San Jose, Calif.; and grandchildren Dustin Yates, Levi Yates, Shade Yates, Shelby Yates, Stone Yates and Marshall Yates.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Bill Yates; and nephew Billy Yates.
A memorial service is 1 p.m. Sept. 15 at the First Baptist Church, 3435 RR 1431 in Kingsland with the Rev. Bubba Stahl officiating.
