David Arther Whyburn

David Arther Whyburn, 58, of Guthrie, Okla., died July 31, 2012. He was born in Waco on Nov. 30, 1953, to Jack and Minie May Whyburn.
He grew up on the Buckner Boys Ranch near Burnet, where his father was the administrator and pastor. He graduated from Burnet High School in 1972 and received his Bachelor of Science in 1976 from Baylor University in Waco.
In 1977, he became the call center manager for Convergys Corp., followed by the director of Communications Service for the Deaf, both located in Lubbock. In 2007, he joined the StarTek team in Big Springs as the site director and transferred to StarTek in Enid, Okla., in 2009 as site director.
He married Kim Snider on May 29, 2012, in Eureka Springs, Ark.
In addition to his wife, survivors include son Lance Whyburn of Dallas; daughter Angela Whyburn of Dallas; stepdaughter Dannielle Niewald and husband Harry of Honolulu, Hawaii; parents Jack and Minnie Mae Whyburn of Marble Falls; sister Lynn Clarke and husband Jim of Austin; brother Billy Whyburn of Robert Lee; grandchildren Quade and Addie Niewald; and nephews Justin and Tanner Clarke of Austin.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
A memorial service is 5 p.m. Aug. 11 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373. Visitation is 5:30-7 p.m.
